About Us
We are a privately owned hotel management company operating a portfolio of hotels across British Columbia and Alberta under leading international brands. We are centralizing payroll and payables at head office to better support our hotel teams.
The Role
You will run payroll and accounts payable for our hotel portfolio from head office, reporting to our Director of Finance and Accounting. Our hotel general managers currently handle much of this locally, and you will take it off their plates so they can focus on running their properties. Accuracy and reliability matter most in this role. Payroll has to be right, every time.
What You Will Do
- Process bi-weekly payroll across multiple hotel properties in BC and Alberta, including hourly staff, salaried staff, statutory holiday pay, vacation pay and overtime
- Manage onboarding and offboarding in the payroll system, including ROEs and T4s
- Remit source deductions, WorkSafeBC and WCB Alberta premiums, and Employer Health Tax on time
- Process vendor invoices across all properties, match to approvals and manage payment runs
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and GMs
- Maintain organized digital records for payables and payroll across all entities
- Respond to pay and invoice questions from hotel managers and staff promptly and professionally
- Help document and improve our payroll and payables procedures as we centralize them
- Use AI-powered tools for invoice capture, data extraction and coding to reduce manual entry
- Use AI assistants (such as Claude or ChatGPT) to draft vendor correspondence, summarize statements and build checklists and process documentation
What You Bring
- 3+ years of payroll and accounts payable experience, multi-location or hospitality experience preferred
- Working knowledge of BC Employment Standards; Alberta payroll experience is an asset
- Experience with payroll software (Ceridian, ADP, Payworks or similar) and accounting software
- PCP certification (National Payroll Institute) is an asset, not a requirement
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to hit hard deadlines every pay cycle
- A service mindset. Our hotel teams are your customers
- Comfort using AI tools in day-to-day work, or a genuine willingness to learn fast. We use AI heavily across our companies and this role is expected to adopt AI-assisted invoice processing and automation from day one
