Reporting to the Manager, Talent Planning and Recruitment, the Recruitment Specialist is an expert recruitment and selection resource for team members and hiring leaders. This role develops strategies and solutions for recruitment and selection processes, applicable collective agreement language, and best practices as they relate to all aspects of attracting and selecting high quality candidates. This includes developing job postings, interview tools and assessments, and utilizing social media to increase LHSC’s brand. This role is the subject matter expert for eRecruit and eCareers, and assigns, prioritizes, and oversees the work of the Recruitment Team. The Recruitment Specialist attends job/career fairs and educational and professional institutions, as well as coordinates and presents at Corporate Orientation.

Rate of Pay: $33.690 per hour to $42.611 per hour

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Successful completion of a three year diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field; or a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences or Business, and a one year Human Resources Management Certificate
Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) preferred
Minimum three (3) years recent, related job experience
Advanced verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated proficiency with PeopleSoft, Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, PowerPoint, Outlook), Internet
Demonstrated ability to provide expertise and day-to-day guidance/ leadership
Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve time sensitive and high stake issues related to recruitment and selection matters
Demonstrated ability to set priorities of others and effectively resolve complex matters
Strong problem solving skills in a deadline oriented environment
Customer Service focused
Demonstrated knowledge of current and leading edge recruitment and selection trends and methodologies
Demonstrated advanced presentation skills
Well-developed interpersonal skills demonstrating active listening
Advanced ability to function harmoniously within a team environment
Proficient knowledge of relevant employment legislation (i.e. ESA)
Advanced experience in the interpretation and administration of Collective Agreements and Non-union policies related to recruitment and selection
Demonstrated ability to thrive in a changing environment
Superior organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple and competing priorities/deadlines while attending to numerous details in a high-stress environment
Advanced ability to work effectively within a team or independently using an above-average level of initiative
Advanced ability to develop collaborative relationships and interface effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
Proficient critical thinking skills and the ability to conceptualize, analyze and solve problems
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated knowledge of and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis

Immunization Requirements:
Provide vaccination records or proof of immunity against measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chicken pox), Hepatitis B, Tetanus/ Diphtheria/Polio; Meningitis.
Provide documentation of the Tuberculosis skin testing (two step)
