We are looking for top-performing principal power supply design lead engineer to join our elite engineering team in Kanata, Ontario, who innovate and create the hardware electronics that Honeywell Connected Enterprise runs on. We are seeking someone who will work closely within SATCOM team in Services and Connectivity (S&C) Engineering organization, part of the Honeywell Connected Enterprise (HCE), and brings the right experience designing a mix of power supply and analog designs for Connectivity and Services Satellite Communications products.

This technical design and leadership position will work with our cross functional engineering talent in Kanata and help lead the team that create the world’s most advanced SATCOM designs for our Services &
Connectivity business.

The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP clearance.

10 Support Services & Connectivity electronics business and technology strategy
40 Lead/perform electrical hardware LRU/PBA level detailed design, design verification, & qualification
30 Drive extraordinary Platform Electrical Design planning, estimation, and execution
20 Influence and collaborate with multi-disciplinary team members
Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years engineering design experience
Master’s degrees in a relevant engineering discipline (i.e. Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering) preferred
Demonstrated skill and experience in power supply and analog design at the circuit card level.
Experience with digital design is a plus.
A strong sense of personal accountability and drive to succeed.
Owns hardware development assignments, including system trades, setting and negotiating requirements, end to end documentation, scheduling, design and analysis, build, qualification, production, and test
Experience designing high reliability/fault tolerant electronics which meet EMC standards
Experience with technical aspects of power supply design, including topologies, control methods, magnetics, PWM ICs.
Experience to ensure our designs meet the industry standards of EMI/EMC of RTCA DO-160, Boeing D6, Airbus ABD, MIL-STD 461, MIL STD-810.
Proficiency with Mentor Graphics xDX Designer, Mathcad, MS Excel, and LTSpice with demonstrated experience designing, simulating and analyzing and demonstrating design performance to requirements.
High proficiency in an engineering or production lab with digital oscilloscopes and spectrum/ network analyzers.
Collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members to solve complex problems including the design of printed board assemblies, troubleshoot circuit and system failures, and support system level integration, qualification testing and certification activities.
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Partners to reach effective solutions to complex electrical engineering problems on a broad, diverse portfolio of designs for our products and systems.
Effective communication and the ability to clearly and concisely convey subtle or complex messages to a variety of audiences, both written and verbal. Desire to complete complex analyses and develop clearly justified reports.
Someone who can interface with, teach, and set requirements with various system and product design teams around our global company
Capability to follow and tailor best practices and guidelines to ensure efficiency on given project task
Capability to solve complex design problems with minimal supervision
Ability to work in a fast-paced, autonomously driven, and demanding start-up-like atmosphere
