Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Aides to provide essential support and assistance to individuals in long term care. This role involves helping clients with daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to improve the quality of life for others and possess relevant caregiving experience. Prior experience in assisted living, personal care homes, nursing homes, hospice care, or home care is highly valued. Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
- Support patients with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Administer medications following prescribed instructions and document accordingly
- Taking and recording vitals such as blood pressure, temps, respiration, pulse, blood sugars, oxygen, and urine and stool samples.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Help with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and laundry to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Assist with mobility and transfer techniques, assist with walking, specialized exercises
- Support clients with dementia or cognitive impairments by implementing specialized care strategies
- Follow all safety protocols and adhere to care plans designed by healthcare providers
Experience
- Personal care home experience or prior work in nursing homes, hospice care, or home care environments is preferred
- Experience working with seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those requiring dementia care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medication administration and basic nursing skills is a plus
- Prior caregiving experience demonstrating patience, compassion, and reliability is desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and effectively support clients during transfers or mobility assistance
- Experience in meal preparation and light cleaning tasks is beneficial
Courses and Certificates and Qualifications
- Personal Support Worker (16 hrs) desirable, or willing to complete upon hire
- First Aid/CPR
- Verbal & written english language skills
- Criminal Record Check & Vulnerable Sector Check
- Legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit

Pay: $16.50-$18.00 per hour
