New Majority is running a major outreach program in the lead up to the 2026 Alberta referendum to increase youth participation in our democracy. We’ll be having face-to-face conversations with thousands of youth to encourage them to get out and vote!
This is a short term position from the 28th of September to the 19th of October.
Job Responsibilities
- Engage with youth to encourage them to vote
- Memorize and recite scripts to encourage voting in a professional, unbiased way
- Approach and engage with the public in a friendly and professional manner
- Be flexible to commute with your manager and team to different locations
- Attend training, with potential to lead trainings in the future
- Report to shifts in a timely manner, communicate clearly with your manager and maintain mutual respect with coworkers and your manager
- Meet quotas and goals set by the manager
You:
- Are able to communicate fluently in English
- Have strong communication skills and a good work ethic
- Are able to work within a team or independently, and value feedback
- Are willing and able to approach members of the public in a fast paced environment and cover a large territory each day
- Can comfortably stand for up to 8 hours a day
- Have availability for a work week of 4 days/week, Monday - Thursday, 10:30am-6:30pm
- Are comfortable traveling within your region to canvassing turf with your team and manager
- Previous canvassing, sales, non-profit, survey collection, or customer service experience preferred but not required
