Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Water Haul and Sanding/Chipping Truck Driver to join our FT team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely operating and hauling and spreading water for dust control in the spring, summer and fall. In winter this position has the potential to move to being responsible spreading sand and chip for our parking lot contracts. We are a year around company with steady hours usually 10-11 hour shifts 5 days a week with a shorter shift on Saturdays. We have winter contracts and steady work. Responsibilities
- Safely operate water haul trucks, sanding trucks, and chipping/rock trucks across diverse terrains and weather conditions.
- Load, unload, and secure materials such as water, sand, or chip for ice control according to safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections of trucks and equipment to identify maintenance needs or repairs, utilizing automotive repair skills as necessary.
- Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies during transportation activities.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and maintenance records for each trip.
- Assist with minor repairs or troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with team members and site personnel to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure timely service.
Qualifications
- Valid Class 3 Licence with Air and a Clean drivers Abstract
- Experience operating heavy trucks such as water haulers, sanders, or chipping trucks.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for record keeping.
- Physical stamina to handle long hours on the road and manual tasks associated with loading/unloading.
- Professional, positive attitude.
