Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Counter Attendant/Cashier to join our team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, handling food preparation, and managing transactions in a fast-paced food service environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in food handling, cashiering, and possess strong time management skills to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, to process customer orders accurately and efficiently
- Handle cash transactions, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
- Provide exceptional customer service by taking orders, answering questions, and upselling menu items when appropriate
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations in compliance with food safety standards
- Ensure proper food safety practices are followed during food preparation and serving
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly
- Assist with food presentation and serving to enhance the dining experience
- Uphold sanitation standards by cleaning work areas regularly and following proper hygiene protocols
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environment preferred
- Familiarity with POS systems, especially Micros POS, is a plus
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude
- Ability to handle cash accurately and perform basic math calculations quickly
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation procedures
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
- Kitchen experience or food industry background is advantageous
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic understanding of upselling techniques to increase sales opportunities
