Part-Time Subcontractor | GTA | 3-Month Probationary Period
Window Restoration Experts Inc. is hiring an experienced Window & Door Technician to join our growing field team on a part-time subcontractor basis.
We are not looking for a general labourer, and we are not necessarily looking for a Lead Technician right now. We are looking for someone with at least 5 years of hands-on window and door experience who can support active projects, work alongside our team, and grow with WRE long term.
This role starts with a 3-month probationary subcontractor period, with the potential to grow into a full-time role based on performance, reliability, workmanship, and team fit.
At WRE, our technician pathway is built around growth from Assistant Technician, to Certified Technician, to Lead Technician, based on workmanship, consistency, client presence, and alignment with the WRE standard.

We specialize in window and door restoration, glass replacement, hardware repairs, caulking, sealing, retrofit work, and full replacements when needed.
Responsibilities
- IGU glass replacement
- Window and door hardware repairs
- Cranks, hinges, locks, latches, and handles
- Patio door service and repairs
- Caulking, sealing, and restoration work
- Retrofit and brick-to-brick installations
- Site prep, protection, cleanup, and quality checks
- Supporting Lead and Certified Technicians on larger projects
- Communicating professionally with homeowners
- Taking photos and job notes when required
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of window and door experience
- Valid Ontario G licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Own basic tools preferred
- Strong workmanship and attention to detail
- Comfortable working inside occupied homes
- Able to lift, climb ladders, and perform physical work
- Legally eligible to work in Canada
- Positive attitude, reliable, and team-oriented
Strong Assets
- IGU replacement experience
- Retrofit or brick-to-brick installation experience
- Patio door experience
- Finish carpentry or renovation background
- Experience working in residential homes
- Ability to mentor or support junior techs
Compensation
Compensation will be discussed based on experience and skill level.
This starts as a part-time subcontractor role, with the opportunity to discuss a full-time position after the 3-month probationary period.
