Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Thrift Seller Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our thrift store by assisting customers, managing merchandise, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about community service, capable of handling physical tasks, and eager to contribute to a welcoming environment for shoppers and donors alike. Must be available to work different days of the week. There will be a 3 month probation/evaluation period.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent customer service throughout their shopping experience
- Assist with the organization, pricing, and display of merchandise on the sales floor
- Help customers locate items and answer questions about products
- Handle heavy lifting when moving donations, stock, or inventory within the store
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sales area to ensure a safe and inviting environment
- Support with donation processing, including sorting and tagging items as needed
- Operate cash register and assist with transactions accurately and efficiently
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly and approachable demeanor
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely (up to 30 pounds) as part of daily duties
- Good organizational skills to manage merchandise and maintain store appearance
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while providing attentive service
- Reliable work ethic with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Very good communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members
