We currently have an opening in our Home Installs Department. Home Installs is a team of professionals who handle every step of a renovation job from initial measurements to final installation and clean-up. Our Home Installs team is based out of our Valley Home Hardware Building Centre location.
The Home Install Labourer is responsible for the daily tasks of install operations, punch-out services and specialty projects. They are responsible for meeting established goals and projects.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure that all Installed Sales customers receive superior service.
- Follow company policies and procedures.
- Solve any Install problem with installers and customers
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Utilize power and manual tools after receiving training, cut, shape, and assemble materials
- Conduct business with the highest standards professionally, personal and ethical standards
- Clean and report maintenance on any vehicles assigned to the installed sales department.
- Ensure all services meet or exceed the requirements of regulatory agencies
- Maintain familiarity with local building codes.
- Installing counter tops of various finishes, laminate, stone, etc
- Drywall repairs and paint touch ups.
- Collaborate with tradespeople to facilitate building processes.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, composite materials and other building materials
- Construct residential frameworks such as floor, wall, roof systems, and decks
- Installation of interior finishes such as insulation, drywall, window/door casing, base board, doors, hardware with accuracy and efficiency
- Pick up, deliver, and return materials to and from the job site (using company vehicle)
- Install and change doors and locks; various siding types and other exterior finishes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Understand, and practice the company's service philosophy.
- Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.
- Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation.
- Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management
- Attend meetings, training sessions, etc. as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Secondary education preferred, High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Journeyman ticket in carpentry an asset
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in carpentry, construction
- Experience in minor plumbing, laying various types of flooring.
- Strong knowledge of building material products (especially commodities) and lumber.
