Job description:
Kanafani Sweets & Coffee's Scarborough location is hiring a Junior Pastry Chef to join our kitchen team. You'll help prepare our signature Middle Eastern desserts and sweets and support day-to-day kitchen operations, working alongside an experienced team that will train you on our recipes and standards.
What you'll do:
- Prepare Kanafani's signature desserts and sweets to our exact standards
- Measure and prep ingredients for daily production
- Follow recipes closely to keep taste and quality consistent
- Support general kitchen prep and production throughout the day
- Keep your station and the kitchen clean, organized, and sanitary
- Stock and rotate ingredients and supplies
- Follow food safety and sanitation protocols at all times
- Jump in and support the team during busy rushes
What we're looking for:
- Experience in a restaurant, café, dessert kitchen, or similar setting is a plus, but not required
- Basic understanding of food or dessert prep
- Valid Food Handler Certificate (required)
- Dependable, organized, and eager to learn
- Able to keep pace in a fast-moving kitchen
- Able to stand for extended periods and handle physical kitchen work
Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.60-$20.00 per hour
