This is a part time position with one resident. The hours of work will be 9am-5pm (52.5 hours biweekly including every other weekend)
Qualifications: Must be fluent in Spanish due to the needs of the Resident. Completion of an accredited Personal Support Worker certificate course.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the House Manager provide activities of daily living to promote comfort and safety of residents. Some typical activities include: bathing, skin care, toileting, mouth care, dressing and undressing, and grooming including shaving, nail and hair care
· Adhere to Trinity Village/LHKW's Mission, Vision, and Values, and follow all organizational policies and procedures
· Remain compliant to all legislative bodies as required by Trinity Village/LHKW, and report as required
· Be familiar with and adhere to the Resident’s Bill of Rights as dictated by the Long-Term Care Homes Act
· Adhere to established department policies and procedures regarding quality assurance, safety, environment and infection control.
· Assist in providing restorative care for residents; assist with ambulation, nutritional needs, palliative care and documentation as necessary.
· Assist in the maintenance of a clean, safe environment. Some typical activities include: making beds and cleaning bedside units, collecting and bagging soiled linen, sorting and storing clean linen, emptying bedpans, removal of unsafe objects, etc.
· Assist with meal service to residents and provide assistance with feeding as required.
· Behaviour documentation as required.
· Consult with and inform the House Manager of house activities, needs and problems related to resident care both by verbal and written communication techniques.
· Documentation
· Participate in resident care conferences (6 wk. and yearly) and committees as required. · Provide emotional and social support to residents.
· Under direction with training and knowledge, performs selected procedures such as collecting specimens.
. Provide physical assistance to residents as required.
· Complete all mandatory training as assigned
