- Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment
- Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
- Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
- Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
- Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
- Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
Qualifications:
- Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
- Experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with a strong knowledge on Caterpillar mining equipment in the field environment
- Valid driver’s license with a successful recent drivers abstract
- Mining equipment repair experience considered an asset especially 797 B & F Trucks, D11, 24 motor graders and 740 ADT
Important Details:
- This position is located at the Albian site on a 7x7 continuous shift rotation days/nights
- Camp and flights provided from Edmonton or Calgary
- Must be comfortable working in an austere mining environment, often working alone with no supervision
- A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
Union Membership:
- You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
- Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
- Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
