Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment within a manufacturing environment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, electrical experience, and the ability to interpret schematics and technical manuals. The Heavy Duty Mechanic will ensure optimal operation of equipment, minimize downtime, and uphold safety standards across all maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery and industrial equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace malfunctioning components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulic systems.
- Utilize Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Low Voltage systems to troubleshoot automation issues.
- Operate CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to document work orders, maintenance history, and inventory management.
- Conduct welding, boiler repairs, HVAC servicing, and other specialized maintenance tasks as needed.
- Maintain compliance with safety protocols and industry regulations during all maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with production teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Keep detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance procedures.
Qualifications
- Red Seal Heavy Duty Mechanic Ticket
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or in industrial maintenance within manufacturing settings.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience and understanding of Schematics.
- Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), CMMS systems, HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and low voltage electrical work is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of industrial electrician practices and troubleshooting automation systems.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and analysis of complex machinery issues.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
- Good communication skills in English for effective teamwork and documentation purposes.
Pay: $48.00-$60.00 per hour
