Job Summary:
Join our team as a Carpenter/Assembler Team Lead in a dynamic warehouse setting. This role involves leading a department of 4-8 staff, ensuring that staff are completing tasks efficiently and following policy, while crafting components for Columns, Wall Panelling, and similar products. Responsibilities also include overseeing packaging shipments. A valid forklift license is advantageous, and proficiency with hand tools, chop saw, and basic carpentry equipment is essential.
Schedule:
Mon-Thurs: 2:00 PM- 11:00 PM
Friday: OFF
Saturday: 7:30 AM- 3:30 PM
Sunday: OFF
Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities:
- Achieve and maintain rapport with all members and departments for fluent and interactive communication. Lead a department of 4-8 staff by example and constructively instruct members for optimal productivity and safety.
- Ensure accurate production, quality inspection, testing, and measurement of materials or products to meet specifications, including marking outlines or dimensions on materials.
- Assist in completing shipments promptly following manufacturing completion as needed.
- Coordinate with the Receiver to schedule and maintain quick-ship items in stock and prepackaged.
- Maintaining inventory of materials.
- Trim joints and assemble parts and subassemblies using glue, clamps, nails, screws, or other fasteners to form complete units.
- Manage online orders for production items, maintain product knowledge, and update records as necessary.
- Knowledge of OHSA Policy and Regulations and ensuring that these are upheld.
- Provide leadership through establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with Warehousestaff in order to promote positive morale.
- Foster an inclusive employee relations culture, is accountable for the adherence to policies and procedures by the crew to ensure a respectful and inclusive work environment.
- Ensure that proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is worn at all times when appropriate and is made available to staff.
- Train new departmental employees, including recent carpentry students/apprentices, to become successful in their roles.
- Monitor and maintenance of machinery and tools, training, maintenance logs, scheduling of maintenance and repairs for. Accurate and inventoried parts and supplies to ensure smooth and effective optimization without/minimal downtime.
- Actively monitor and coach members, work accuracy, training, output, engagement. Reporting weekly to upper management output numbers, deficiencies, successes and new weekly goals. Quarterly review reports on members sent with new /updated training documents for each members/machinery/millwork levels.
Nature and Scope:
- Applies established processes guided by clear rules, past practices, or provided instructions, consulting a supervisor for advice on non-routine matters. Management approval is sought for any deviations from standard procedures.
- Works under close supervision with limited latitude and independent judgment. Output undergoes detailed checks by senior management.
Pay Structure:
- $60,0000 - $70,000 annually based on experience

Education and Experience:
- Apprenticeship and/or woodworking certifications
- Architectural Millwork: 10 years (preferred)
- Cabinet Maker: 10 years (preferred)
- Leadership: 5 years (preferred)
- A valid forklift license is advantageous.
- Proficiency with hand tools, chop saw, and basic carpentry equipment is required
