Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Golf Course Superintendent to lead the maintenance and overall management of our golf course. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the course remains in excellent condition, providing an exceptional experience for players, and maintaining the aesthetic appeal of the landscape. This role requires a combination of horticultural expertise, leadership skills, and hands-on landscape maintenance experience to oversee daily operations and long-term course development.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, including turf management, landscaping, and irrigation systems.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal playing conditions year-round.
- Supervise and train staff in gardening, landscape maintenance, and construction activities related to course upkeep.
- Manage irrigation systems to ensure proper watering schedules and system repairs.
- Coordinate with contractors for construction projects such as bunker renovations or new landscaping features.
- Monitor environmental conditions and adjust practices accordingly to promote healthy turf and plant growth.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations across all maintenance activities.
- Lead efforts in pest control, fertilization, aeration, and other turf management practices.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, chemical applications, and equipment repairs.
Experience
- Proven experience in supervising landscape or golf course maintenance teams with strong leadership capabilities.
- Extensive knowledge of horticulture principles, gardening techniques, and turfgrass management.
- Hands-on experience with irrigation systems installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
- Familiarity with construction practices related to landscape development or renovation projects.
- Prior experience in supervising staff members in a fast-paced environment is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of quality. Pay: $49,555.15-$157,756.18 per year
