Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Director People and Culture will be responsible for leading the operational delivery of human resources services across the organization, with a strong focus on employee retention, workplace culture, attendance management and overall workforce stability.
This role serves as the primary advisor on people-related matters and provides leadership in employee relations, performance management, investigations, ad legislative compliance.
Responsibilities:
Lead the day-to-day human resources function across all locations, ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery
Provide consistent, practical guidance on employee relations, performance concerns, attendance management, and workplace conduct
Ensure human resources practices align with organizational policies, culture, and applicable employment legislation
Lead and oversee employee relations matters, including conflict, complaints, and conduct concerns
Lead or support workplace investigations, including assessment, planning, documentation review, and outcome guidance, depending on risk and complexity
Coach leaders on appropriate communication, documentation, and decision‑making during sensitive situations
Provide guidance to leaders on performance management, coaching, and corrective action
Coordinate progressive discipline processes to ensure consistency, fairness, and alignment with policy and legislation
Lead initiatives to improve employee engagement, morale, retention, and organizational culture
Partner with operational leaders to identify root causes of turnover and implement practical solutions.
Develop practical, sustainable programs that strengthen workplace culture, employee experience, and organizational goals
Oversee attendance management practices including Short-Term Disability (STD), Workers Compensation Board (WCB) and Return to Work (RTW) programs
Identify, monitor, and address trends related to absenteeism and workplace injuries
Ensure compliance with Saskatchewan employment legislation, human rights, and organizational policies
Job Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Human Resources or a related field
Minimum 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including significant employee relations responsibility
Demonstrated experience advising leaders on discipline, investigations, & performance management
Strong working knowledge of Saskatchewan employment standards & human rights legislation
CPHR designation or working toward designation
