EvenUp is on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. We empower personal injury lawyers and victims to get the justice they deserve. Our products enable law firms to secure faster settlements, higher payouts, and better outcomes for victims injured through no fault of their own in vehicle collisions, accidents, natural disasters, and more.
We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com.
Security at EvenUp is still early enough to shape.
We’re looking for a hands-on Security Manager to help define how security evolves across our product, infrastructure, AI initiatives, and internal operations.
This isn’t a role where you’ll inherit a mature security program and simply maintain it. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Product, Legal, and executive leadership to build a security function that’s practical, scalable, and enables the business.
If you enjoy building, solving ambiguous problems, and working alongside strong engineers in a fast-moving AI company, we’d love to meet you.
Shape the future of security. You’ll help define how security evolves as EvenUp continues to scale.
Work on real AI challenges. Security is deeply involved as we continue investing in AI across both our product and internal tooling.
Be part of the conversation early. You’ll partner closely with Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, IT, and Legal to influence decisions before they’re made.
Stay hands-on while growing a team. This is a leadership role, but you’ll still be close to the technical work.
Own the Security Strategy. Define and execute EvenUp’s security roadmap across product security, infrastructure, AI, corporate IT, and risk management.
Build & Grow the Team. Lead and mentor our growing Security & IT team, hire exceptional people, and help scale the function as the company grows.
Build Security Into the Product. Partner closely with Engineering to embed security throughout the SDLC through threat modeling, secure design reviews, vulnerability management, penetration testing, and practical security guidance that helps teams move quickly and safely.
Protect Our Infrastructure. Own our cloud and corporate security posture across AWS, IAM, endpoint security, MDM, SSO, and identity systems. Evaluate security tooling and make thoughtful build-versus-buy decisions.
Lead Risk & Compliance. Own our SOC 2 Type II and HIPAA programs end to end, including audit readiness, policy management, incident response, vendor security, and third-party risk in partnership with Legal.
Build a Security-First Culture. Coach engineers and business teams, promote security best practices, and help build a culture where security is everyone’s responsibility.
Experience building or scaling security programs at a startup or high-growth company.
Strong technical depth across cloud security, IAM, endpoint security, secure SDLC, and modern security tooling.
Experience partnering closely with engineering teams on application and product security.
Hands-on ownership of SOC 2, HIPAA, or similar compliance programs.
Experience leading and developing technical teams while remaining close to the work.
A collaborative approach that helps teams move quickly while making smart security decisions.
Curiosity about AI and an interest in helping shape security as AI continues to evolve.
A builder mentality - you enjoy rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, and creating systems that will scale with the business.
This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in our Toronto office three days per week.
