We are currently accepting applications for the continuous position of a Learner Information Analyst with the college’s Office of the Registrar & Enrolment Services.
The Learner Informational Analyst is responsible for the preparation and production of learner information reports under the supervision of the Assistant Registrar, Learner Records and Reporting. The position produces required regular government and college reports as well as ad hoc reports, providing analysis of data presented as part of the reports as appropriate. The position works with a variety of learner information from extracted datasets as well as data taken directly from the Student Information System. The position is expected to perform quality assurance functions, both of the data used and the final reported data.
Produces government enrolment reports and regular college learner information reports, including validation of reported information.
Produces reports used in college enrolment planning; design and execute methodologies for preparing enrolment forecasts; prepare analysis of historic data to inform enrolment forecasting; obtain input from various internal and external sources and compile results.
Monitors (and undertake where required) SIS data extraction and perform data mart/warehouse maintenance; undertake data validation and cleaning processes; maintain integrity of data in data mart/warehouse and other datasets
Produces ad hoc reports (including charts, graphs, tables and narrative content) on learner data from data mart/warehouse or SIS as required; design / plan / execute learner data reports, develop and execute statistical analysis when needed; produce projections/forecasts of enrolment-related metrics; develop specifications for reports; identify the appropriate and relevant data to be used and the sources of the data.
Creates database/SIS queries and datasets as required for the various reporting functions of the unit.
Analyzes learner information data: identify and describe the meaningful conclusions, trends, issues that data suggests; consult with academic departments, other areas of the Office of the Registrar, etc. as appropriate for the analysis
Performs validation / quality assurance procedures and processes: use validation methods and analysis to verify the accuracy of data and reports produced and investigate suspect data/results and make adjustments as necessary and appropriate.
Archives and maintains reports and data sets produced and used by the unit.
Keep current regarding government learner information reporting requirements and communicate these as appropriate to college stakeholders; identify the necessary data that needs to be maintained by the college and available to meet the government’s reporting requirements.
Bachelor’s degree with course work in a related field (data analysis, business analysis, statistics).
High proficiency in Excel; proficiency in a business analytics tool (Power BI preferred) Good verbal and written communication skills.
An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be considered.
3 years of relevant experience.
