Job Overview
The Safety & Training Advisor is responsible for promoting a safe work environment through the development, implementation, and monitoring of health and safety programs, policies, and procedures. The role also supports organizational training initiatives by identifying competency requirements, coordinating training programs, delivering safety instruction, and maintaining training records. The advisor works closely with managers, supervisors, employees and clients to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and company standards.
Duties
· Driver training (monitor, organize, book and conduct)
· Logbook training and Audits
· Incident / Accident investigation & reporting
· Injuries / WCB Claims / Modified Work Plans
· OHS Safety Committee Chair / meetings, etc.
· Safety Manual updates
· Insurance review / reporting
· Carrier Profile review
· Client and Public complaints
· Monitor driver compliance and Motive Safety Scores
· Claims / Equipment damage – follow up (Letter of Responsibility)
· Special Permits
Qualifications
· Diploma or Certification in Occupational Health and Safety such as:
· Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
· Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC)
· Class 1 Drivers Licence considered an asset
· 3–5 years of experience in occupational health and safety, training, or workforce development.
· Experience conducting workplace inspections, investigations, and safety training.
· Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety legislation and training standards.
· Strong knowledge of workplace health and safety principles.
· Training delivery and facilitation skills.
· Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
· Incident investigation and root-cause analysis.
· Report writing and documentation management.
· Ability to influence and coach employees at all organizational levels.
· Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Pay: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
