Chinook School Division is looking to fill a full-time (7 hours/day) Office Manager position at Maverick High School in Swift Current. Maverick High School is an alternative, student driven, academic high school (grades 10-12) located in Swift Current, SK.

Start Date: April 1, 2019

DUTIES:

The Office Manager shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned, including but not restricted, to the following:

  • Perform receptionist duties by greeting visitors and parents, answering the telephone, ascertaining the nature of business, providing information or redirecting inquires as required
  • Conduct inventory and order administrative and academic supplies as required
  • Gather and record the daily attendance records for all students
  • Perform various computer, word processing and typing responsibilities such as forms, spreadsheets, correspondence, school communication, student lists and a variety of reports as directed
  • Enter data and generate monthly and other reports in the student information, accounting and administrative systems as required by the Principal and Division Office personnel
  • Perform the financial and accounting functions required to maintain financial records such as bank deposits, issue receipts, petty cash reports, reconciliations, and decentralized budget information
  • Manage the computer application for registration and tracking of students for distance learning courses through Chinook Cyber School & Maverick School
  • Provide support to CAMPS school for the registration of students with the Ministry of Education and inputting of daily attendance in the student information system
  • At all times maintain respectful and non-judgemental communication with fellow staff members, students and parents
  • Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of Maverick School and Chinook School Division

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Certificate/Diploma in Office Administration training at an institution or equivalent
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, and punctuation
  • Knowledge of methods and procedures used in maintaining an office
  • Knowledge in accounting practices
  • Superior technological knowledge in order to provide tech support to other staff members/students
  • Knowledge in the operation of equipment, such as photocopier, fax, telephone, and computer
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and database software packages
  • Knowledge and experience working within Google: drive, docs, slides, forms and hangouts
