Details: Falcon Lodge supports a five (5) bed, co-ed youth home from a strength based/solution focused perspective. You will be directly involved in teaching, supporting and mentoring youth to develop skills and abilities. The youth in the home have developmental disabilities, mental health disorders and some complex behaviours. The ideal candidate will have experience working with youth who have substantial trauma and addiction concerns, as well as skilled in relationship building and de-escalation techniques. Responsibilities will include supervision of the youth, facilitating recreational activities, crisis intervention and counseling.
Hours: Friday and Saturday overnight from 11:00pm-11:00am; 24 awake hours per week, with opportunity to do extra shifts/hours.
This is a temporary position ending on September 1, 2025

In your role you will:
¨ Connect with and develop helping relationships with youth
¨ Support and offer guidance to youth
¨ Supervise youth in the home
¨ Complete documentation
¨ Perform administrative and cleaning duties relating to the operation of the home
¨ Participate in on-going program development
As one of the ideal candidates, you possess:
¨ Partial completion of a Degree/Diploma in the Human Services
¨ Six (6) months of directly related experience in youth/family work
¨ Equivalencies may be considered
¨ Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Persons Sector Check (within the last 6 months)
¨ Children Services Intervention Record Check (within the last 6 months)
¨ Standard First Aid - Level C CPR + AED
¨ Valid Class 5 drivers license, current drivers abstract, are required; auto insurance and reliable vehicle are assets.
¨ Strong verbal and written communication skills
¨ Experience working with harm reduction, substance use/naloxone training and trauma is an asset
¨ CARE (Children And Residential Experiences) training is an asset
¨ Desire to see youth succeed
Starting Rate of Pay: $24.65-$27.74 per hour; based on experience and education
