We are looking for two Full-Time Behaviour Support Workers for our Special Needs therapeutic program in North Vancouver. You will work as part of a team to provide support, care, and mentorship to youth with special needs in a therapeutic home setting. The lines are:
Sunday-Thursday, 7am-3pm shifts
Tuesday-Saturday, 7am-3pm shifts
Tuesday-Saturday, 3pm-11pm shifts
You will be able to indicate which line(s) you are applying for in your application.
You must have:
Post-secondary education in Psychology, ECE, ABA, Social Services, or related field and/or equivalent experience working with youth with special needs
Demonstrated experience working with youth with aggressive behaviours and mental health challenges
Clear and concise written and verbal communication
Ability to pass a Criminal Record Check and Ministry of Children and Family Development consolidated check
Minimum Class 7N BC Driver's License (Class 5 preferred) and acceptable driving record
You’ll score more points if you have:
Current First Aid and CPR certification
Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention certification
Experience in creating social stories, visuals aids, sensory integration, and report writing
Knowledge of behavioural support plans
Experience with de-escalation and crisis management

Maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home
Building positive working relationships with the client, family, community members, and other professionals involved in the care team
Encouraging and modeling acceptable social standards and setting appropriate boundaries
Engaging in frequent interaction with clients, using appropriate means of communication
Facilitating recreational and/or educational activities
Attending school meetings and case conferences when required
Performing household maintenance duties, preparing meals, administering medication, and assisting clients with personal care as needed
Collaborating with the clinical team and providing input into assessments and care plans
Salary: $21.00-$23.50/hour plus benefits
