Job Description:
We are currently searching for a Director (or Manager), Human Resources based in our Edmonton office.
Reporting to the Chief People & Culture Officer, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development, implementation and management of Human Resources programs, processes, policies, and systems across the company to support our company vision “To be an employer of choice, providing our people with a supportive and fun place to build a career, while bringing inspiration and innovation to our work.” This role will also be responsible for providing HR support and services to the company’s corporate functions.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Partner with corporate functions as a strategic HR business partner to identify business needs and implement solutions that support the attraction, retention, development and engagement of the talent needed to build a positive culture and drive business success.
- Ensure that all employee lifecycle transaction such as hiring, onboarding, transfers, pay and benefits, and terminations are handled appropriately for all corporate functions.
- Provide leadership for aspects of the People and Culture function related to Total Rewards, HR Operations, and Employee Relations.
- Support aspects of the People and Culture function related to Talent Acquisition, Talent Development, and Talent Management activities as required.
- Provide leadership and insights for the entire People & Culture function regarding HR best practices to help drive efficiency and effectiveness of the functions’ programs, policies, procedures, and systems.
- Maintain understanding of all applicable employment law, legislation and case law and ensure updating of company policies, procedures, and training to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Oversee the development, management, updating, communication and training for all company wide HR policies.
- Oversee, provide guidance on, and where needed perform, investigations to look into any allegations of policy violations or misconduct.
- Lead the ongoing development, enhancements, and management of the company’s onboarding programs, tools and processes, including overseeing new hire onboarding feedback surveys.
- Manage exit interview process for the company, conduct analysis and provide reporting on insights and trends regarding employee turnover across the company.
- Ensure that the company’s HRIS systems are streamlined and support efficient and effective processes to enable the delivery of world class People and Culture services. Identify and implement opportunities to automate, simplify and streamline processes.
- Oversee all aspects of total rewards including but not limited to pay structure, job descriptions, compensation surveys and data, benefits surveys and data, and all other benefits offerings.
- Partner with Payroll and Benefits administration team to ensure employees and the business are receiving the support and service required and that any program, policy, or legislative changes are reflected in our pay and benefits administration processes.
- Provide mentorship and coaching as needed to support the development and success of HR Business Partners, HR Generalists, and HR Coordinators across the company.
- Provide regular reporting and updates on key metrics related to Human Resources.
- Other duties as assigned to support the success of our people and the business.
Job Requirements:
What you will bring:
- 15+ years of professional Human Resources experience (or 10+ years for Manager);
- Masters Degree in Human Resources or related field (or Degree/Diploma for Manager);
- Deep Employee Relations, Human Resources Operations, and Total Rewards experience gained from supporting organizations with operations across Canada;
- Experience supporting multiple business units within a company with operations spanning across multiple provincial/territory jurisdictions across Canada;
- CPHR designation preferred;
- Strong understanding of employment legislation across Canada;
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills;
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationship across organizations;
- Customer service centric style with ability to provide world class Human Resources services that delight internal and external customers.
