CAVC is a 36 bed unit with an additional 4 beds dedicated to Transitional Home Ventilation (THV) program. Patients are ventilator dependent requiring total patient care. Patients are cared for by Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses with the support of the inter-professional team. ELU is a 6 Bed unit geared towards stable ventilated patients who are able to direct their care - Care Assistants are supported by registered staff to provide ADLs and other care needs. Recreational Therapy Services provide a range of services to both patient populations to enhance the quality of life in a fun and safe environment.
Diploma in Nursing
Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current certificate in cardiopulmonary resuscitation BCLS for registered nurses employed on the Respiratory Rehabilitation and Neurological Rehabilitation nursing units
Must be able to achieve 80% in the Functional Independent Measure (FIM) certification exam within the probationary or familiarization period and on recertification exams if applying to work on any of the following rehabilitation units: 3EA (Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation), 3EB (Amputee Rehabilitation), 3EC (Neurological Rehabilitation), 2EB (TB Rehabilitation) and 2WF (Respiratory Rehabilitation).
Recent related clinical experience preferred
