The Ministry of the Trade and Export Development (TED) is responsible for advancing long-term economic growth in Saskatchewan by working with government colleagues and stakeholders to enhance trade, investment, and a competitive business environment.
The Ministry is seeking a proactive, creative, and results-oriented leader to join the Strategic Policy and Planning Branch as Director of Policy. The Director will thrive in a dynamic work environment and excel at building and supporting teams to advance Saskatchewan’s Plan for Growth.
The successful candidate will lead a team of senior policy analysts to:
provide comprehensive, timely, evidence-based advice on cross-cutting and often complex economic policy issues; and
identify and advance policy options to enhance Saskatchewan’s business environment, for example, contributing to the design and delivery of programs.
The Director will be an excellent communicator and collaborator with experience advancing complex files that require working across ministries and with stakeholders. You will have experience in policy and proven capacity to think critically and strategically about Saskatchewan’s economic future.

Our candidate of choice will have technical knowledge of economic theory and the factors affecting economic growth; government structures, processes, responsibilities, operations; and program/policy/project evaluation techniques.
Typically, the knowledge and skills for the position are acquired through a graduate degree in public policy, economics or business administration plus several years of related experience; or through equivalent education or experience in a related field.
