Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager, Health & Wellness, the Employee health and Wellness Coordinator (located in each FIR), assists in the planning, development, implementation and monitoring of company-wide total wellbeing initiatives. The Employee health and Wellness Coordinator also contributes to the development of programs that create awareness and enhance motivation and provides tools to employees that help them adapt and maintain a well rounded healthy lifestyle.

This role supports NAV CANADA`s Health and Wellness Strategy and assists in the implementation of initiatives by engaging stakeholders, planning, championing and delivering wellness initiatives to the business that increase employee engagement and support a wellness culture.

The Employee health and Wellness Coordinator also provides support to the wellness programs, including Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM), The Chemical Dependency Education and Rehabilitation Program (CDERP), Light the Way and Thrive.
Job Description

Key Accountabilities:
Coordinates program implementation and maintains total wellbeing programming to reduce health risk, medical costs and encourage healthy lifestyles, including, regular and periodic conceptualizing regional program initiatives. Identifies training requirements and organizes training in conjunction with health care professionals schedules participants and delivers regional training sessions and monitors and evaluates outcomes and realigns program requirements with training needs. Develops, implements and evaluates appropriate health and wellness promotion strategies in consultation with the Manager Employee health and Wellness to create a healthy workplace and;

Gathers and analyzes data to measure success on health and wellness programs and initiatives in the FIR;
Compiles comprehensive periodic reports on participation programs and outcomes and recommends changes.
Provides assistance with employee return to work plans, as required. Implements and administers wellbeing related activities as required including drug testing, health screenings, lunch and learn seminars, flu-shots, in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and;

Provides support to the peers’ support teams, including CISM, CDERP, Light the Way and Thrive;
Coordinates meetings as required and participates in interviews of new peers.
Keeps abreast of current national wellness and wellbeing initiatives and activities, develops a network of resources and contacts to use as appropriate. Explores ideas and opportunities to personalize the program to increase employee participation and;

Coordinates periodic program meetings to enhance employee buy-in and assist with implementation and communication of initiatives.
Provides support in the development of new wellness policies and initiatives. This may include conducting research on industry best practices and consulting with outside agencies. Participates in special projects as may be required and assigned.

Scope & Impact

Health and Wellness programs are essential to maintaining and retaining a healthy workforce. This position is expected to support the development and delivery of the Health and Wellness initiatives to NAV CANADA employees. This role plays a critical role in supporting the health and wellness of NAV CANADA employees in the FIR

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

Excellent communication skills both orally and written in both official languages;

Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously;

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects at one time under tight deadlines;
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail;
Presentation skills for the provision of training / briefings.

Knowledge of Occupational Health and Wellness Program principals, theories and best practices specifically in the areas of, health promotion strategies and adult education;
Knowledge of the crisis management process;
Knowledge of designated group agencies and associations for resource purposes to enhance wellness initiatives;
Knowledge and abilities in project management and data analysis to ensure wellness initiatives are planned efficiently and desired goals are achieved;
Knowledge and abilities to work within a wellness team to effectively deliver and support the CISM and CDERP;
Knowledge of fatigue management concepts;
Knowledge of NAV CANADA’s organization and structure is preferred;
Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, e-mail and internet navigation.

3+ years experience working as a wellness profession, in Human Resources and / or a health environment, or equivalent;
Experience in crisis management;
Experience in providing mental health support;
Experience in providing health coaching;
Experience in the delivery of health promotion programs;
Experience in providing training.

Diploma in Nursing, Social work or Health Related education or related field or a combination of education and experience;
Registered Nurse (RN), Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) is preferred.
Working Conditions

Standard office environment;
Some travel is required.
