Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Personal Injury Lawyer to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for representing clients who have been injured in a car accident, slip and fall incident, sustained an injury as a result of a negligent behavior of facility owners or care providers or had been denied long-term disability claim. This role requires a strong understanding of personal injury law and the ability to provide excellent legal counsel.
Duties:
- Conduct legal research using tools such as Lexis-Nexis to support case preparation
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and mediation memoranda
- Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients with insurance companies or opposing counsel
- Represent clients in court proceedings such as examinations for discovery, hearings, and trials
- Communicate effectively with clients, witnesses, and other lawyers
- Write and review legal correspondence and documentation
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law in Ontario
- Proven experience in personal injury law with a focus on plaintiff representation
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to advocate effectively for clients
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Proficiency in legal research using platforms like Lexis-Nexis
- Experience in legal drafting including pleadings and motions
- Ability to negotiate settlements with insurance companies or opposing parties
- Strong writing skills for legal correspondence and documentation
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $70,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
