Building Better. MODUS Structures Inc. is an experienced off-site design, manufacturing, and construction company, based in Crossfield, Alberta. Established in 2004, MODUS has successfully provided innovative and cost-effective building solutions to the educational, commercial, residential, industrial, and institutional sectors. Operating two manufacturing facilities totaling 200,000 sq. ft. of insulated and heated workspace, the MODUS team works to design, manufacture, and deliver building projects faster than traditional site-built methods.
Role Description
The Project Coordinator works in a multi-disciplined construction manufacturing environment on construction manufacturing, design/build, and construction management projects. The Project Coordinator will report to the VP Operations and provides support services to Project Managers.
Responsibilities
- Construction Project Administration
- Perform administrative duties related to preparing reports, contract changes, field communication, correspondence etc. and other duties as required.
- Coordinate communication and exchange of information with internal/external consultants, sub-trades and project team participants (distribution of drawings/information, coordinating meetings, communicating information as required, recording and distributing minutes of Meetings).
- Filing and maintaining of project files.
- Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of tendering (i.e reproduction of contract drawings, prepare bid lists, contact bidders, prepare contract documents for executions, etc.).
- Coordinate shop drawing receipt and distribution in conjunction with the Project Manager.
- Tracking all communication with relation to RFI’s, OCN, ECM, LEM, COR, CO’s
- Coordinate operating and maintenance manuals receipt and distribution.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for Project Managers and the appropriate staff.
- Liaise with the Safety Officer in preparing staff for site visits.
- Ensure Internal and external documentation is accurate and error free
- Participate in inspections when given the chance
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years in a similar role in a General Construction or Modular Construction environment
- Post secondary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction, Business or related field
- Experience with scheduling software for construction projects, and other software applications associated with Project Management
- Highly organized with ability to prioritize working on multiple projects.
- Demonstrated ability to work with people.
- Experience working in a project team environment.
- Knowledge of construction sub-trade disciplines.
- Modular Building experience an asset
- Commercial Building Envelope (Retail and Residential) an asset
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization with high levels of integrity, tact and maturity
