This position is an 18 months contract that reports to the Risk Management-Operations team in our Office of the SVP, Client Operations sector.

About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. You will provide support and assistance to the senior analysts or specialists in a range of activities related to reporting and analysis, Housing programs monitoring and Securitization activities. You will conduct ongoing creditworthiness analyses and evaluations of existing and potential counterparties to support CMHC’s credit risk policy that will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.

What you will need
  • Undergraduate degree in accounting, finance or business administration.
  • Professional accounting designation (CPA) would be an asset.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with financial statements.
  • Understanding of financial statements and general accounting principles.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage several ongoing and competing projects.
  • Ability to function in a sophisticated technological environment using tools such as spreadsheets, databases, applications as well as consolidation and reporting tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
What you will be doing
  • Provides analytical support for the creation of various reports with a focus on presenting information to various audience.
  • Responds to data requests from clients.
  • Maintains appropriate functional business system documentation and process controls.
  • Identifies and interprets financial information that supports accounting and reporting activities pertaining to investment portfolios and overall corporate performance.
  • Ensures data is accurate and valid by conducting quality checks and being attentive to detail.
  • Uses appropriate analytical tools to perform data mining in support of team initiatives and business needs.
  • Streamlines and operationalizes data reporting as necessary, including developing KPIs, dashboards/scorecards and metrics for approval.
  • Provides ad hoc financial analysis related to corporate initiatives.
  • Analyzes and explains financial impacts related to credit and market metrics in relation to investment or mortgage loan insurance decisions/strategies.
