Site C -QA/QC
Mitchell Installations Ltd. looking for a QA/QC inspector reporting directly to QC Manager for the project at Fort St. John, British Columbia to manage all aspects of quality control as per the contract and project requirements. The job is full time for the duration of the project (1 year), starting immediately. The rotation is 14x7 and schedule will be adjusted as per the project criticality and milestones. Camp accommodations will be provided including flights to and from Fort St. John - Vancouver. Strong preference for Candidates from and around Fort St. John.
Job description
Ø Work in a team environment and will be part of crossover shifts among the QC team
Ø Carry out quality control activities as per project requirements
Ø Provide QA/QC experience and expertise for execution of the project work scope
Ø Coordinate quality activities with Construction and client and third-party inspection agencies
Ø Prepare weld matrix, issue NDT requests, track daily welds and MTR tracking
Ø Prepare and maintain quality records pertaining to scope of project
Ø Conduct regular internal site walkdowns/ walkdowns with client; identify and log the deficiencies
Ø Draft ITP, check sheets and assist in drafting installation procedures as per project requirements
Ø Perform the Inspections and Tests in accordance with the Project Contract, approved ITPs and produce the pertaining quality records
Ø Prepare inspection test reports and Feedback reports based on the inspections and walkdowns
Ø Prepare Hydrotest Package and walk the lines before hydrotesting
Ø Verify that test equipment is properly calibrated and maintained
Ø Review the test reports and other quality records and compile into package for client submission as per milestone requirements
Ø Engage in corrective and preventative action plans
Ø Initiate/issuance of Internal Non-Compliance Report once a non-conformity situation has been detected
Ø Prepare Handover package as per milestones and project requirement
Ø Other activities delegated by Quality Manager
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Requirement)
Ø Must have minimum 2-year experience with Oil and gas/ hydroelectric projects/ piping projects/ mechanical projects including equipment installation (pumps, motors, monorails, cranes etc.)
Ø Accredited two (2) or three (3) year Technical or Engineering Technology diploma or global equivalent degree
Ø Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Ø Good industry practices, Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ø Ability to apply knowledge of applicable ASME Codes, local, provincial, and federal statutes and BC government guidelines
Ø Attention to detail and work on time sensitive deliverables
Ø Ability to work at heights and confined spaces and inside powerhouse
Ø Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within an integrated project team.
Intermediate Computer skills including Excel, Word and Adobe
