Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Terminal Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day safety and operation of the Brandon Terminal. You will be expected to deliver on your own objectives while supporting the Terminal in all operational activities.

About the position:

  • Working closely with dispatch team to ensure a superior level of service is provided to all internal and external customers
  • Providing support and direction to the Safety Department to ensure our safety culture is maintained and processes and policies followed
  • Facilitating the effective utilization of people and equipment
  • Preparing annual budgets, analyze monthly financial statements, and monitor terminal profitability
  • Analyzing data to predict staffing requirements, liaise with Human Resources to ensure recruitment needs are fulfilled
  • Responsible for the overall supervision, hiring, retention, training, and development of all staff within the Terminal
  • Ensuring customer requests are responded to in a timely manner, including preparation of required information for meetings and planning sessions
  • Conducting site visits for customer service reviews and service level validation – resolve differences as required
  • Realizing effective communication of available resources to other regional dispatch centers and developing a strong working relationship to ensure effective execution of customer service requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with Federal Regulations and company Policies and Procedures
  • Participating in employee relations, such as dispute resolution, discipline, and communications in conjunction with Human Resources, and create and maintain a positive work environment
  • Working closely with Shop Supervisor to ensure that all equipment that requires repair/maintenance is made available and aligned with maintenance budget
  • Administering other duties as required

What you bring:

  • Post-secondary education and or training in a related field or considerable experience to supplement
  • 5 years of diverse experience with supervisory responsibilities in the transportation industry required, with exposure to a variety of commodities
  • Experience with Windows-based programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook), TMW experience is an asset
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty truck maintenance and repairs an asset
  • Required to be on-call as needed
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Well organized, detail-oriented, enthusiastic, and confident with a roll up your sleeves attitude towards work
  • A self-starter with a highly energetic results-oriented work style
  • Ability to maintain a sense of humor in challenging situations
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Capable of handling confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, requiring initiative and ambition, able to work independently
  • A solid business presence complimented by personal drive, resourcefulness, maturity, integrity, honesty, and sound business judgment
