The Business Development Group is a critical team that reports up to the Vice President of Business Development. This team is dynamic and fast-paced as they navigate developing new relationships with prospective customers and building on existing relationships. About the Role
We are seeking a dependable and diligent Business Development Representative (BDR) to join our team. This role plays a critical function in driving new business by identifying, soliciting, and securing business from new customers for ECI.
The BDR will be counted on to develop high quality leads by researching and identifying potential new customers who are aligned with ECI’s strategy. They must then solicit those new customers through a variety of methods and finally building rapport to secure purchase orders with customers. While the emphasis will be on establishing and developing new leads, the BDR will also work with the rest of the Business Development team through all stages of the sales process. Documentation is also critical so that we can measure success and progress according to established frequency and format standards.
This role requires a unique blend of customer-facing interaction, organizational discipline, and internal coordination. Candidates must be comfortable interacting with all levels of customer contacts (employee level up to executive level) and coordinating with different teams internally (ex. Customer Service, Engineering, Production, Quality etc). This position is suited for proactive go-getters, someone who has a natural curiosity and is willing to learn new things and strategies so they can adapt to what the situation calls for.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development:
· Learn industry information and specific ECI Development and Manufacturing capabilities to present ECI value proposition and capabilities to potential clients.
· Outbound prospecting through cold-calls, emails and participating in marketing campaigns to connect with potential customers.
· Develop company profiles in our CRM (Pipedrive) to support sales opportunities and add to ECI’s master account and contact lists.
· Follow established sales processes, documentation standards, and CRM best practices consistently.
· Provide regular pipeline updates, activity reports, and sales forecasts for management.
· Monitor industry trends and competitor activities to identify opportunities and ensure ECI remains competitive.
· Qualify, nurture and foster sales leads/contacts, building relationships and maintaining contact to develop and support future opportunities.
· Focus on documenting and expanding relationships with decision makers within customer organizations to ensure we communicate with the right stakeholders.
· Review current customers and dormant accounts and plan a strategy to revive dormant accounts.
· Schedule and facilitate meetings with potential clients for business development management to attend, as well as ECI Management or other internal team members when necessary.
· Visit customer sites to conduct consultations, present and discuss ECI’s capabilities and strengthen relationships with potential customers.
· Attend trade shows, industry events, and other networking opportunities that align with our growth or sales goals.
· Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement activities as it relates to the BDR’s area of expertise.
· Achieve assigned revenue targets as specified by ECI leadership.
· Lead the quotation process for the BDR’s new customers and ensure customer satisfaction throughout the customer onboarding process by working closely with the customer and internal teams.
Marketing:
· Support and develop marketing content (brochures, presentations, case studies, data sheets etc), as required, that can be used to support Business Development activity based on market indicators and internal capabilities.
· Create, post and maintain content for our online channels such as LinkedIn or email marketing.
· Support market intelligence gathering through market and customer interactions.
Customer Account Support:
· Support both internal and customer teams through any necessary processes with a high level of care reflective of ECI’s high standards.
· Work closely with all necessary internal team members to ensure high customer satisfaction as customers progress through the customer cycle to other internal teams.
· Provide support as needed to the Senior Manager of Business Development and VP of Business Development.
· Assist in resolving customer questions or escalations to maintain customer satisfaction.
· Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, status updates, and key account notes in the CRM.
· Ensure timely communication between customers and internal teams, especially during handoffs.
· Provide overall Customer Service when required on new accounts.
About You
Qualifications
● Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Electronics or a related field.
● 3+ years of Business Development or Sales experience, preferably in Manufacturing or Electronic industries, with proven success or previously closed deals.
● Solid skills needed to effectively support Business Development, Marketing, and Customer Account activities.
● Strong written and verbal communication skills with polished presentation capabilities.
● Experience and confidence in engaging with executives and decision makers.
● Ability to comprehend and communicate to others the industry practices, processes, tools, quality systems and products we use or create.
● Strong time-management and prioritization skills
● Disciplined approach to documentation and organization to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.

Salary Range
The expected base salary range for this position is $50,000-$70,000 plus Commission.
