Responsibilities
- Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
- Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
- Help clients with physical therapy exercises
- Plan and prepare meals with assistance from the clients (when they are able)
- Perform light housekeeping duties that clients can’t complete on their own
- Be a pleasant and supportive companion and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- open to travel with the client when needed (live-in flexible)
Skills
- Completion of your Personal Support Worker Diploma or the completion of your nursing degree.
- Enjoy working in a 1:1 setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
- Ability to perform all essential job functions with or without accommodations.
- Ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner.
- Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends.
- Prior experience in a healthcare or in-home care environment.
- Willingness to enforce health and safety standards.
- Supportive and compassionate.
