CBT THERAPIST (Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Psychotherapist)
The Ottawa Institute of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (OICBT) is looking for a registered Occupational Therapist, a registered Social Worker or a registered Psychotherapist to provide individual and/or group Cognitive Behavioural Therapy services to clients experiencing a variety of mental health difficulties (e.g., mood and anxiety problems, life stressors, emotion dysregulation, addiction, etc.). The successful applicant will work in collaboration with other health professionals. **Expertise in the treatment of eating disorders, substance use, borderline personality disorder, or couples would be an asset for this position.**
This is a hybrid position, with most of the work being conducted remotely, with the option to do some in-person work at our office. Applicants must provide their own laptop/computer and internet when working remotely.
Required Qualifications
- Practicing member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, or the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
- Masters Degree
- Valid professional liability insurance
- Training and experience in CBT
- Ability to work independently and with members of an interdisciplinary team
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
The OICBT is a large private practice clinic founded in 2009. Most of our therapists have been involved in hospital-based practice and have received in-depth training in the delivery of evidence-based treatments. Our goal is to meet the needs of our clients by offering individual, group and home- and community-based services. Research and best-practice guidelines inform our decisions about treatment. We also aim to provide structured opportunities for professional development, supervision, and evaluation research. In order to achieve these goals we have developed strong ties to academic and hospital-based institutions and other mental health providers in the community.
