SALES MANAGER
Location: United Boxing Club – 1034 Bloor St W, Toronto
Position Type: Part-Time / Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate
Compensation: Base salary + performance commission
Reports to: Director / Owner
Type: Full-time, on-site
United Boxing Club isn't a gym — it's a club. We've built a community around boxing where the sport meets real life: training, café, retail, and events all under one roof. Our members don't just buy a membership; they join something. Everything we do is grounded in three values — Honour, Courage and Consistency— and we expect the person in this seat to sell from that place, not from a script.
We're looking for a Sales Manager who can carry the brand in every conversation, turn first-time visitors into long-term members, and build a sales engine that lets UBC grow beyond a single room.
The Role
As Sales Manager, you own the journey from first contact to committed member — and beyond. You're the bridge between someone walking through the door curious and someone who calls United their second home. You'll run the lead pipeline, conversion process, open new revenue lines (corporate blocks, premium tiers, heritage drops), and eventually build and lead a small sales team as we scale.
This is a builder's role. You'll inherit systems and be expected to sharpen them. The right person sees the gap between where our conversion sits today and where it should be, and treats closing that gap as the job.
What You'll Own (Core Responsibilities)
Membership sales & conversion
- Own the full sales cycle from trial to conversion
- Conduct gym tours, intro consultations, and follow-up that reflect the UBC standard — personal, unhurried, genuine.
New revenue verticals:
- Memberships: Introduce and sell memberships to incoming leads.
- Private Training: Sell into the premium private coaching and other higher-value offerings.
- Corporate & Events: Build and sell corporate membership blocks to local businesses and partners.
- Retail: Support sales around retail drops, events, and partnership activations.
What We're Looking For
- 2+ years in sales, membership sales, or hospitality/fitness sales — Sports or fitness background a strong plus, but heart and hustle matter more than a résumé.
- A genuine closer who builds trust rather than pressure. People should want to say yes.
- Comfortable owning numbers: you treat your conversion rate and pipeline like a craft.
- Partner with other team members and coaches for a true retention engine, not just an onboarding checklist.
- Organized and CRM-fluent — you don't let things slip.
- Someone who carries the brand naturally: warm, grounded, and credible with everyone from a first-timer to a corporate partner.
- Self-starting and entrepreneurial — you spot opportunities and act, rather than waiting to be told.
Growth Path
This role is built to grow. We promote from within and tie advancement to clear, earned milestones.
Stage 1 — Sales Manager (Now) Own conversion and the pipeline. Hit and beat membership targets. Prove the playbook.
Stage 2 — Senior Sales Manager Consistently exceed targets, build out corporate and premium revenue lines, and start documenting and training the sales process. Begin bringing on and mentoring sales support.
Stage 3 — Head of Sales / Revenue Lead a sales team, own the full revenue function across memberships, corporate, premium tiers, and events, and sit at the table for UBC's growth strategy and expansion.
Compensation grows with each stage — base, commission structure, and scope all step up as you deliver. We'd rather invest in someone who treats this like their own business than churn through people who treat it like a job.
