Job Description:
As a Cardiac Technician at Toronto Hypertension Clinic, you will play a pivotal role in our mission to provide top-quality cardiac diagnostics to our patients. Your responsibilities will include the application of various cardiac monitoring devices and the preparation and scanning of collected data. You will need to be proficient in Holter monitoring, Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM), 12-lead ECG, Stress test and Automated Office Blood Pressure (AOBP) measurement.
Responsibilities:
- -Holter Monitoring: Properly apply Holter monitors to patients, ensuring patient comfort and compliance. Collect and scan the data for abnormalities. Prepare the file for physician interpretation.
- -Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring (ABPM): Apply ABPM devices to patients as needed, ensuring proper positioning and patient understanding. Collect and prepare data for interpretation.
- -12-lead ECG: Perform 12-lead ECGs accurately and efficiently, following established protocols. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during the procedure.
- -Automated Office Blood Pressure: Conduct automated office blood pressure measurements and record results accurately.
- -Maintain Equipment: Properly maintain and troubleshoot monitoring equipment to ensure functionality and reliability.
- -Patient Education: Educate patients on the proper use and care of cardiac monitoring devices.
- -Record Keeping: Maintain detailed and accurate patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy and security regulations.
- -Raise Concerns: Escalate concerns for potentially serious results to the responsible physician.
- -Adherence to Protocols: Follow established protocols and guidelines for all cardiac monitoring procedures.
- -Stress Testing: Perform stress tests accurately and efficiently, following established protocols. Ensure the safety and comfort of patients during the procedure.
- -Assisting with front desk tasks and other office tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- -Minimum of one year of practical experience as a Cardiac Technician.
- -Certification as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) or equivalent.
- -Proficiency in Holter monitoring, ABPM, 12-lead ECG, Stress testing and Automated office blood pressure procedures.
- -Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- -Attention to detail and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- -Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- -Current CPR certification.
- -Knowledge of relevant regulatory guidelines and protocols.
