Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR) to join our team. Candidates must be motivated to make a difference in each patient’s experience. You will work alongside a team of dedicated professionals who focus on the safety and service of each patient. You will work with a supportive management team that will provide flexibility and healthy work-life balance.
Employee Class: Casual, part-time, and full-time
Shifts: 07-15:00 (Monday - Saturday)
Tentative Start Date: Ongoing
Responsibilities and Duties
- Initiate pre-operative assessment of the surgical patient.
- Assist anaesthesia with induction.
- Demonstrate clinic competence in the scrub and circulating roles.
- Orient new operating room personnel.
- Demonstrate the ability to function to the full scope of nursing practice.
- Monitoring patients when they are still under the effects of general anesthesia.
- Accurately complete all administrative tasks associated with the position, ie: complete charting, complete any forms required by the facility, communicate information to family and patients verbally and written.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active CRNA registration.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - BCLS-HCP.
- Minimum of 3 years previous Operating Room Experience
- Perioperative Nursing Certification course is an asset.
- Experience in Orthopedics is an asset.
- Exceptional use of judgement.
- Excellent communication, independent decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and supportive of others.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, standing for prolonged periods of time is required.
