IT Support Specialist

William Day Construction Limited, is looking to fill the position of IT Support Specialist. The candidate will be responsible for providing internal IT support, including mobile device and computer setup/management, hardware maintenance, network and systems administration, software support, and general troubleshooting. The successful candidate to this position will be a team player working collaboratively with other IT Support staff and resources to provide technical advice and assistance to employees under the general direction of those providing IT Management.

Job Responsibilities:
- Fielding telephone or email inquiries; prioritizing and triaging support requests; troubleshooting to provide daily first-level technical support to internal employees.
- Providing support for Microsoft operating systems and programs as well other common small business applications.
- Remotely accessing workstations/mobile devices to perform necessary maintenance, and solve PC hardware, software, or minor network problems.
- Providing troubleshooting and support for network and internet connectivity, VPN security and management, and issues with email and other collaborative technologies as they arise.
- Patch and update Windows Servers and applications during scheduled maintenance windows.
- Manage backup systems and de-duplication schedules; as needed, restore files for system recovery or when when end-users lose or misplace files.
- Provision/Disable Active Directory accounts, Exchange mailboxes, VPN and 2FA authentication as requested and authorized.
- Review and release emails from spam filtering when requested by end-users.
- Manage Active Directory accounts and security, including but not limited to granting/revoking access to network resources, unlocking locked-out accounts, resetting passwords, and modification of attributes.
- Maintaining and updating virus protection on desktops, and other software installations as required.
- Setup and Maintenance of mobile devices, and utilization of MDM software
- Fix and repair printers, scanners and other peripheral devices as required.
- Document most common issues and maintain documentation of resolutions for future reference
- Assist IT Management with other projects and relevant duties as required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in the field of IT or Computer Science.
- A+ Certification is mandatory. CCNA/MCSA is an asset.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory, Windows 10/11, Server 2016/2019/2022, Exchange On-Line, VM systems, WDS, and Office 365 services.
- Understanding of network technologies, firewall and VPN services
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an IT Technical support role mainly focused on supporting and troubleshooting user issues with PC hardware and software.
- Experience with MDM solutions such as Maas360 is preferred.
- Configuration and deployment of iPhones, Android devices and tablets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
