Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Cleaner to join our team. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness of the common areas of Good Shepherd Village (a sixty unit senior citizens apartment building) and preparing vacated apartments for new tenants. The ideal candidate will have prior custodial or cleaning experience, particularly in multi-residential environments. This position offers flexible hours suitable for individuals looking to contribute to a clean and safe environment while working part-time.
Responsibilities
- Clean all common areas of the building on a weekly basis including entrances, hallways, common rooms, laundry rooms, washrooms office and sauna.
- Clean windows in common areas a minimum of two times per year.
- Replenish washroom supplies
- Inform Building Superintendent when cleaning and washroom supplies need to be purchased; also report when cleaning equipment requires repairs/replacement
- Responsible for the cleaning of vacated apartments
- Responsible for the safe use and storage of cleaning materials
- Assist Building Superintendent as required
Qualifications
- Must possess the physical ability to fulfill all aspects of the role
- Able to operate all floor cleaning equipment including vacuums, carpet shampooers, etc.
- Ability to work independently in an efficient manner, as well as part of a team
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, including handling precautions and first aid procedures.
- Able to relate in a caring manner towards the elderly
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Health and Safety regulations is an asset.
- Completion of a Police Records Check - Vulnerable Sector required
- Able to work additional hours when apartment vacancies occur
Pay: $21.30-$24.30 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 20.0 per week
