As a Sustainability Consultant with VCH you will:
Be responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating various sustainability initiatives for Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH), consistent with the organization’s sustainability goals, policies and mandate.
This includes strategic communications and engagement with internal and external stakeholders to develop and operationalize sustainability initiatives/projects from conception to implementation utilizing project and change management principles.
Provide leadership and mentor/coach assigned project staff.

Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Social and/or Environmental Sciences, Resource Management, Sustainable Business or related discipline, plus a relevant certificate, such as LEED Green Associate, Change Management Practitioner, Professional Facilitator, Environmental Professional Designation, or other supplemented with three (3) to five (5) years' recent, related experience developing and implementing environmental programs in a large complex organization (health care preferred), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.
Knowledge & Abilities
Broad-based knowledge of sustainability themes related to building construction and operations: waste, water, energy, air quality and chemicals, as well as, staff engagement in sustainability practices.
Strong personal commitment to environmental sustainability.
Ability to design and implement effective programs, projects and initiatives for a large complex organization.
Demonstrated ability to synthesize and interpret complex concepts and data.
Demonstrated ability to use systemic and critical thinking skills to navigate and resolve complex problems
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and use conflict negotiation and diplomacy skills
Demonstrated ability to facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholders and present to large group of individuals and/or audiences.
Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize work and balance multiple activities concurrently in a dynamic environment with changing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities, work independently and in a team setting.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to operate related equipment including applicable software applications.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
