We are a newly opening Grocery store looking for reliable, friendly, and motivated Food preparation staff to join our team. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Duties
Deli Operations
* Operate deli equipment safely and efficiently.
* Slice, portion, package, and display deli products according to company standards.
* Maintain product quality, freshness, and presentation.
Meat Weighing and Labeling
* Accurately weigh meat and prepared food products.
* Print and apply labels containing product information, pricing, and expiry dates.
* Ensure compliance with food safety and labeling regulations.
Prepared Meal Production
* Prepare ready-to-eat meals following recipes and portion standards.
* Assemble ingredients, cook where required, and package finished products.
* Monitor quality, appearance, and consistency of prepared meals.
Meal Kit Assembly
* Assemble meal kits according to specified recipes and ingredient lists.
* Verify correct quantities and ingredients before packaging.
* Ensure kits are properly labelled and ready for sale.
Shelf-Life and Freshness Checks
* Inspect produce, meat, and prepared foods daily.
* Monitor expiry dates and product quality.
* Remove, record, and properly dispose of expired or damaged products.
* Follow FIFO (First In, First Out) inventory practices.
Sub and Sandwich Preparation
* Prepare subs, sandwiches, wraps, and related products to customer and company specifications.
* Maintain portion control and product consistency.* Ensure food is prepared in a sanitary manner.
Cleaning and Hygiene
* Maintain cleanliness of food preparation areas, equipment, utensils, and storage spaces.
* Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
* Complete scheduled cleaning and sanitation tasks.* Properly handle waste and recycling materials.
Experience
Previous experience in food preparation, deli, grocery, or restaurant environments preferred.
* Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
* Ability to follow recipes and preparation procedures accurately.
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
* Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
