The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the University of Toronto, concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science students.
Our department members are dedicated to aid prospective and current undergraduate Arts & Science students, to make their university experience as smooth and seamless as possible. We coordinate student recruitment, undergraduate registration and enrolment, student records,transfer credit, central Faculty awards, tuition fees assessments, final examinations, graduation as well as current and prospective student advising services.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Welcome Services, the Student Services Advisor is a front line registrarial professional and a highly visible representative of the Office of the Faculty Registrar (OFR) and the Faculty of Arts & Science that acts as part of a network of advising and service professionals across the University that collectively contribute to improving the undergraduate student experience.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing front-line, drop-in advising and referral services and tracking and monitoring contact with students
Advising potential applicants, students and parents on Faculty admissions criteria and processes
Acting as the first point of contact for current and prospective undergraduate Arts & Science students
Keeping well-informed on University programs, policies and procedures as well asacademic rules and regulations
Analyzing course enrollment and waitlisted numbers and recommending alternatives to course availability
Analyzing statistical information to inform admissions projections and planning activities
Promoting programs and delivering recruitment presentations to students
Providing timely and effective cross-campus student referrals
Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combinationof equivalent experience.
Minimum four years of recent and related experience in a service-centered student advising services environment.
Experience in at least one of the following areas: academic advising, student recruitment, admissions, fees assessment, exams, or transfer credits
Experience in current and/or prospective undergraduate student co-curricular and/or academic advising.
Experience interpreting, applying and advising on rules, guidelines, and procedures.
Experience with customer service and the ability to support students who describe stressors impacting their academic progress.
Advanced skills with Microsoft office (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Advance skills with ROSI, Degree Explorer, or other student information systems/CRM systems.
Demonstrated skills and ability to provide effective guidance and counsel to students in a responsive, thoughtful and discreet manner.
Excellent interpersonal, communication andpresentation skills.
Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to effectively prioritize, multi-task and organize work.
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 12 - $70,427 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $90,064. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
