Anchor/Reporter, Weekend – CP24 (Unifor 723M)

Hours of Work:
40 hours per week. Overtime as required. This job includes weekend and shift work
CP24 – Toronto’s Breaking News – is looking for an experienced News Anchor. An accomplished journalist, you will bring credibility and solid news judgement to the role. The successful candidate will have outstanding on-air presentation skills and a track record for anchoring live breaking news events, while also being able to take part in the lighter segments.
- Anchoring news on CP24
- Taking live breaking news segments to air
- Co-hosting segments
- Originating, writing, interviewing and presenting information to a television audience
- Report, research and produce news items
- Other duties as assigned
- Minimum five years of experience as a News Anchor/Reporter
- Outstanding news presentation skills
- Solid news judgement, writing, research and production skills
- Strong interview skills
- Thrives with live television, especially breaking news
- Proven ability to handle stressful situations and tight deadlines
- Knowledge of Toronto and GTA
- Strong team player
Bilingualism is an asset (English and French); adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
