Luther College High School invites applicants for a Casual Substitute Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Principal, this position may be called upon from time to time to support the day-to-day operations of the main office by providing reception, basic student and faculty support, and general administrative assistance.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, parents, students, and members of the public by answering phones, greeting visitors, answering the door, and directing inquiries as appropriate.
- Monitor and respond to general main office emails as required.
- Receive and distribute mail and deliveries.
- Book courier pick-ups as required.
- Assist with general office organization and administrative tasks.
- Maintain and update daily student attendance records.
- Assist with preparing daily announcements as required.
- Direct communication and inquiries to the appropriate staff member or administrator as required.
- Other related administrative duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative, reception, or office experience is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communications skills, with the ability to interact professionally and positively with students, parents, staff, visitors, and the public.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities.
- Comfortable working independently and using good judgement.
- Proficiency with common computer applications, including email, word, excel, and other office technology.
- A friendly, approachable, and professional manner.
- Affinity with the goals of Luther College and the small college environment in which flexibility, warmth, and cordiality are necessary and valued.
- A satisfactory criminal record check including a vulnerable sector check will be required.
Salary and Benefits
The hourly wage for this position is $21.00 per hour which includes vacation pay.
