Our local Windsor client is looking for a Sanitation Lead.
Responsibilities and Qualifications of Sanitation Lead:
· Lead daily execution of the master sanitation schedule across the full site, covering production equipment, process rooms, floors, drains, coolers, fridges, freezers, washrooms, and lunchrooms.
· Assign, direct, and verify the work of sanitation crew members on shift, confirming each area meets standard before sign-off
· Perform clean-in-place (CIP) and clean-out-of-place (COP) procedures on cheese production equipment, including disassembly and reassembly as required
· Conduct pre-operational inspections of equipment and process rooms, and release areas for production only when sanitation standards are met.
· Mix, apply, and verify chemical concentrations per supplier specifications using titration or test strips, and maintain chemical inventory and SDS documentation.
· Clean and sanitize coolers, fridges, and freezers, including shelving, drip and condensate pans, door seals, and floor surfaces.
· Maintain washrooms and lunchrooms in sanitary condition, including restocking of soap, sanitizer, and paper products and removal of waste
· Manage floor and drain cleaning, waste and recycling removal, and housekeeping practices that support the pest prevention program
· Complete and review sanitation logs, master sanitation schedule records, and corrective action reports accurately and on time
· Support the environmental swabbing program with the QA Technician and lead re-cleaning and corrective action on unsatisfactory results.
· Train new and existing sanitation staff on SSOPs, chemical safety, WHMIS, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements
· Maintain sanitation equipment such as hoses, foamers, scrubbers, and pressure washers, and report defects or repair needs promptly
· High school diploma or equivalent required.
· Food Handler Certification required or to be obtained upon hire
· HACCP training required; formal certification an asset
· Two or more years of sanitation experience in food manufacturing, preferably dairy
· Prior experience leading or directing a crew is strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated history of supporting successful regulatory or third-party food safety audits is an asset.
· Working knowledge of SSOPs, CIP and COP procedures, and the safe use of caustic, acid, and sanitizer chemistries.
· Ability to read and follow chemical labels, SDS, and dilution and titration instructions accurately
· Comfortable working independently during off-hours, after production, or on weekends.
· Physical capability to sustain demanding work in cold, wet, and confined conditions.
Compensation & Hours of Sanitation Lead:
· Monday to Friday 4pm-12:30am
· $25-$26/hour
