Position Title: Concrete Pump Operator (Fly-in/Fly-out)
We are seeking an experienced Concrete Pump Operator to support our client at an Arctic fly-in/fly-out (FIFO) site. This role follows a 2-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off rotation. Flights, camp accommodations, meals, and PPE are provided by the company. The position offers a pay rate of $38-40/hour, with overtime paid after 8 hours per day (12-hour shifts).
This is a short-term contract with an expected duration of approximately four months, with the possibility of extension. The tentative start date for this position is July 8 or July 15.
Candidates must be able to pass a medical assessment, criminal background check, drug and alcohol screening, and provide references.
We are looking for those individuals with a strong work ethic and a good employment track-record and a demonstrated safety record
Main Accountabilities:
- Operate and control concrete pump equipment (line pumps/boom pumps) to place concrete safely and efficiently on site
- Set up, inspect, and dismantle pump systems, including hoses, pipelines, and booms
- Coordinate closely with batch plant operators, truck drivers, and site crews to ensure smooth concrete placement
- Monitor concrete flow, pressure, and consistency during pumping operations
- Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and troubleshooting of pump equipment
- Ensure proper placement techniques to meet engineering specifications and quality standards
- Conduct pre-operational checks and maintain equipment logs and production records
- Adhere to all site safety procedures, mine regulations, and environmental requirements
- Safely operate within a high-traffic, heavy equipment environment
- Assist with general site duties as required
- Willing to do other trades like rebar / formwork
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3–5+ years of experience operating concrete pumps, preferably in mining or heavy civil construction
- Experience with boom pumps and/or line pumps in high-volume environments
- Strong understanding of concrete behavior, mix consistency, and placement techniques
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting
- Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 considered an asset, depending on equipment)
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including overtime, in a physically demanding setting
