What you'll do
BC Hydro has a large, complex real estate portfolio that stretches throughout this Province. We have an exciting opportunity
for a leasing professional to join our Real Estate Services team as the Manager of Leasing Services.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Real Estate Services, the Manager of Leasing Services will lead a team of experienced
real estate professionals to manage BC Hydro’s diverse leasing portfolio. We are looking for a team player with high energy
and strong technical leasing skills. We offer a great team environment and a competitive compensation package.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provides real estate consultation, negotiation, and management services in respect to property leasing.
- Measures team effectiveness and performance and coaches team members to be their very best.
- Develops, recommends and implements strategies/policies, standards and determines negotiation tactics and provides
creative problem solving related to land tenures.
- Prepares business cases and financial analysis for the acquisition of new and existing leased space.
- Accountable for leasing property where BC Hydro is landlord (maximizing revenue and minimizing risk to BC Hydro); and
for leasing property where BC Hydro is tenant (minimizing costs while meeting client needs).
- Accountable for filming request from external parties and EV charging stations. as it pertains to properties / land tenures.
- Responsible for managing departmental leasing budget and costs.
- Participates in the management plan for the department.
What you bring
- A bachelor level degree or equivalent in Urban Land Economics, Commerce, Urban Planning or Real Estate Economics.
- A minimum of 8 years’ experience in progressively more responsible real estate positions, with demonstrated experience
in lease management.
- Strong leadership skills with a minimum of 2 years experience managing teams.
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
- Additional qualifications could include: AACI, RI(BC) and SR/WA or MBA.
- Exceptional attention to detail and written communication abilities.
