Requirements
-
Completion of middle school, must be able to read and write and perform basic math.
-
Valid Class 5 Driver’s licence.
-
Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and situational awareness of physical work environment.
-
Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs.

Satisfactory verification of criminal record check.
Preferred Requirements
-
Previous experience in the mechanical industry is preferred.
-
Previous forklift experience is preferred.
Job Overview
Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, as the Shop Labourer you perform general labour activities and provide support to the Plumbing team. You assist in ensuring cleanliness and organization of the job site and the shop.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

Cutting, threading, reaming and assembling pipes according to specifications, ensuring to meet the established quality standard.

Preparing and arranging valves to be ready for driver pickup.

Operating a diesel, electric or propane powered forklift to safely move goods as required.

Working in a safe manner and complying with Qualico’s Safety Program and relevant safety regulations. Reporting any violations and incidents or near miss incidents to management immediately.

Assisting the Shop Manager with arranging the shop and organizing materials.

Providing support for other projects or duties as assigned.
Work Conditions
You primarily work on site and outdoors during regular business hours. Work has exposure to noise from equipment/machinery and occupational hazards as well as dealing with inclement weather and dust. Overtime may occasionally be required. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required.
