About the Opportunity
We are a well-established Canadian industrial distributor serving customers across multiple industries with a broad range of industrial products and solutions. We are seeking an energetic, hands-on Branch Manager to lead our branch operation while remaining actively engaged with customers and business development.
This is not a desk-only management role. The successful candidate will lead from the front by developing new business, growing existing accounts, coaching a high-performing sales team, and driving the overall performance of the branch.
Position Summary
The Branch Sales Manager is responsible for the overall sales performance, operational success, and profitability of a small branch location. Reporting to senior leadership, this individual will manage a team of direct reports while maintaining an active sales presence in the market.
In addition to leading the sales team, the Branch Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the branch warehouse, ensuring inventory accuracy, shipping and receiving efficiency, workplace safety, and exceptional customer service.
Success in this role requires a balance of strategic leadership, operational accountability, and personal sales execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of direct reports.
- Drive branch sales growth through new customer acquisition and account expansion.
- Develop and execute branch sales strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Monitor and achieve branch KPIs including:
- Revenue growth
- Gross margin
- New customer acquisition
- Customer retention
- Sales activity metrics
- Team performance
- Conduct regular sales meetings, pipeline reviews, and performance coaching.
- Recruit, train, and develop high-performing sales talent.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and strategic accounts.
- Maintain accurate forecasting and CRM reporting.
Branch & Warehouse Operations
- Oversee the daily operations of a small branch, including the warehouse and customer service functions.
- Ensure efficient shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized warehouse environment.
- Coordinate inventory management and replenishment activities with purchasing and supply chain teams.
- Ensure operational compliance with company policies, procedures, and health and safety standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of industrial sales experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a sales team.
- Proven success growing sales through both new business development and account management.
- Experience managing branch operations is considered a strong asset.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Comfortable managing performance through KPIs and accountability.
- Experience within industrial distribution is strongly preferred.
- Exposure to Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO) products is considered an asset.
- Valid driver's licence with the ability to travel throughout the Greater Vancouver region.
Preferred Experience
Experience selling one or more of the following:
- Industrial supplies
- MRO products
- Fasteners
- Industrial tools
